Game Notes

-UW-River Falls advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second time in program history - and the first time since 1995 - and defeated Saint John's for the first time since 1937 in a 42-14 playoff rout.

-The Johnnies intercepted a pass on the third play from scrimmage, returning it to the UWRF two-yard line, setting up the game's opening score.

-The two squads went into halftime with the Falcons on top, 14-7.

Prospect Spotlight

Saint John's WR Dylan Wheeler

-Wheeler led all receivers with 12 receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown in his final collegiate game.

-The 2024 All-America wideout finished seven yards shy of his 16th 100-yard receiving game.

-Wheeler was named to the East-West Shrine Bowl Watch List earlier this year.


Looking Ahead

UW-River Falls QB Kaleb Blaha

-The presumptive favorite to win the Gagliardi Trophy as the top player in NCAA Division III, Blaha accounted for 342 total yards, rushing 26 times for 97 yards and a touchdown while completing 22 of 28 passes for 245 yards and three scores.

-Blaha became the Falcons' single-season record-holder for touchdown passes in the win. He now has 31 for the year.

-The Coon Rapids, Minnesota native originally committed to Division II Winona State as a wide receiver in 2020; however, the season was not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and he transferred to UWRF in 2021 for the opportunity to play quarterback.
