Buffalo LB Red Murdock
-The preseason All-America pick lived up to the billing with a game-high 16 tackles and a seven-yard sack.
-The 6-foot-1, 240-pound interior defender has tallied at least one tackle for loss in each of his last five games, dating back to 2024.
-A likely mid-round pick come April 2026, Murdock led the nation with a program-record seven forced fumbles last season.
Looking Ahead
Minnesota QB Drake Lindsay
-Lindsay passed for 290 yards and two scores, with one bad-luck interception, in the first start of his collegiate career.
-The redshirt freshman from Fayetteville, Arkansas, bookended the game's scoring with a nine-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and a 60-yard touchdown pass in the fourth to lead the Gophers to a season-opening win.
-Lindsay's first pass of the season was a 12-yard completion to sophomore All-American safety Koi Perich, who saw action as a defensive back, receiver, and punt returner in the game.
